Pi Day
Happy Pi Day to everyone… 😁
Since 1988, Pi Day has been celebrated on March 14th. The date was chosen based on the Anglo-Saxon notation of this day, 3.14, which resembles the approximation of Pi to three decimal places.
The first person to celebrate this occasion was the physicist Larry Shawn, who organized a circular procession around one of the buildings of the Exploratorium of San Francisco and the sale of fruit pies decorated with the decimal digits of this magical number. Later, the physicist was awarded the title of Prince of Pi.
To this day, mathematics departments in numerous universities organize parties to celebrate this number.
